Engaging Learners with YouTube Linked Lessons, with NUITEQ's Director of strategy, Dr Edward Tse
Wednesday 23, Thursday 24, Friday 25
The way we learn has changed: YouTube has gone from 500 million views per day of Educational Content to over 1 billion, it’s the 3rd most popular reason why people watch videos on the site.
Many teachers use YouTube in lessons. Yet there are challenges: an algorithm that favours watch time which means most videos are 10 minutes in length, pre-roll and mid-stream advertisements, and the constant plug of sponsors, subscriptions, and likes.
In this session Ed will discuss ways to get around these limitations with tips on how to use videos effectively in the classroom and hands on activities.
